History of Mount Sinai pre & primary school


 Mount Sinai English medium Pre&Primary school was Founded by Pastor Naiman Jeremiah Shemhilu,started in January 2012 It's main focus is to support children in need by providing food and education for the vulnerable poor children and orphans around the area of Matevesi, Arusha region in General.The genesis of the school was through the realization that most of the children in this village are either orphaned or come from a very poor background families, which can not support and provide the basic necessities such as food and education. The school aims at providing free education, and its also provides free food during learning days.The school is registered under Elimu Msingi(EM) with registrarion number AR.01/7/085.

The School is located outskirt of Arusha city,its about 14Kms from the City centre. The school is located in Arusha city,within Olmoti ward. The school has propagated a teaching volunteering program for those who want to volunteer their skills set, and we have seen a quite number of local and international volunteers coming on board. Let us consolidate and join hands for the betterment of the school, and the lives of the children. Vision of the School. Mount Sinai School shall be unbiased in terms of gender,ethnicity,race,nationality and disabled. Hence it shall strive to create partnership with the vast local community through community outreach programs,governmental agencies and other committed players in private sectors,as a way of building an institution that caters for the need and aspiration of children in sustainable way at this level of learning. We are waiting for you! If you are looking for an opportunity to contribute to a school and be part in an authentic Arusha Kisongo village, look no further! You do not need to be a teacher to come and help us at Mount Sinai Pre and Primary School! All we need from you is your open heart and some skills that can benefit the children and/or the operation of our school. Volunteers are free to stay with us for their comfortable period of time. The school kindly requests volunteers to help us with a small contribution for accommodation. This contribution goes towards children's education. Related to the coordination of the meals, free Tanzanian lunch is provided to volunteers on school days, on weekends breakfast and dinner are organized by volunteers. Volunteers are very welcomed to fundraise for the school through family and friends. Volunteers work alongside teachers in the classrooms and when doing co-curricular activities. The school Schedule days start from 07:30 to 15:30; mornings for teaching and learning. Afternoons curriculum programs, such as sports, art, chess, singing,dancing and Eco projects. Weekends are free for volunteers to do personal activities,such as Arusha Town Tour,Snakes Park, game park, museum, Lake cruise, shopping and visiting local markets.And also spending time with the local people and get to learn more about the Tanzanian way of life. What is a day at Mount Sinai English Medium Pre and Primary School like? Our school day begins at 07:30 and finishes at 15:30. Break time is from 10:00 to 10:30 and lesson resumes until 12:30, when lunch time starts. Lessons resumes at 14:00 until 15:30. As a volunteer you dedicate your time to the school and the children. Saturday and Sunday are free time. We can't wait to meet you!
